Giving Thanks and Giving Back with The hCard

November is the month for both sharing and remembering. The month started with the commonality of all of us voting for national and local leadership, and we just recently remembered all those who have served with Veteran’s Day. The month concludes with what possibly is for many the most favorite of holidays, Thanksgiving Day. From our earliest history of Plymouth Rock and the Pilgrim celebration of harvest to what we have today in 2012, it is a day filled with family dinner, celebration and thankfulness for what we have in life.

The hCard is a family too. Our guiding principles center around the love and appreciation we have for others as well as our continued support for the local community and our continuing focus on  personal freedom.

The hCard’s Community Mobile App Program is a clear example of this blend of purpose, and we align our mission with businesses that feel the same way we do.

This Thanksgiving when we gather to give thanks for all those who keep us safe, we will focus on the Firefighters, Police, Sheriffs, our Military and our community volunteers who serve behind the scenes doing their duty here in our communities and across the globe. It is their presence and strength within a multitude of nations and here coast to coast that allow us to sleep well each and every night.

Our Mobile App Program is very special. And it is free in these four categories:

We feel honored to give back. We know that you do too. This is the beginning of a new and wonderful  season of hope and greetings. Please head to our home page and join us as we give thanks to all who serve.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

in December 1620, the Mayflower brought the Pilgrims from England to what is now Plymouth Massachusetts. Soon to experience a horrific winter, in the autumn of 1621 they decided to celebrate the first harvest of the first colony. They invited their new friends, members of the Wampanoag Nation, to join them for a three day celebration. Blessings were exchanged and it became the very first of many special times for the young community yet to be called America.

In 1789, Thanksgiving was declared a day of gratitude and celebration by President George Washington. But it was not until just before Pearl Harbor in 1941 that President Roosevelt declared Thanksgiving to be a legal holiday.

Exactly 70 years later, we give thanks in 2011 to all of our wonderful customers, our family and friends. Giving thanks to all things that matter in our life is indeed the American way. God bless our Armed Forces around the world who will not be at the table with family this year. Freedom indeed is never free.

Once a year, we set aside some time in our hectic lives to focus on family, friends, fun, food, freedom, and a little football, and enjoy the day of close togetherness and gratitude.

When you say thank you to someone, it just makes you both feel good.

Thank you for being friend and client. Without your hCard membership and commitment, we would not exist! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”  John Fitzgerald Kennedy
